  • In March we gathered for Funding Forward 2019 in Tucson, Arizona to learn together and highlight pressing issues facing our movement. Plenaries covered topics including immigration, conversion therapy, and sex worker rights, and a special ceremony for the 2019 Pride in Philanthropy Awards offered an opportunity to celebrate inspiring leaders in our sector.


  • In partnership with the Global Philanthropy Project and ILGA World, we co-led a Spanish language webinar to share findings from the 2015-2016 Informe de Recursos Globales with leaders from philanthropy and civil society throughout Latin America.

Following the launch of the GUTC Pledge, Inside Philanthropy takes a closer look at the trans funding landscape and how our campaign hopes to transform the sector.

The U.S. Supreme Court will take up cases that hinge on federal discrimination laws and whether they protect LGBTQ workers when its new term begins in October.

Nico Calvo Rosenstone (former GUTC Fellow) writes an op-ed in The Stanford Social Innovation Review with advice on what organizations can do to make the workplace transgender inclusive .



REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS


The Andrus Family Fund supports organizations that advance social change and improve the outcomes for vulnerable youth ages 16-24 in the United States. Application deadline is May 17.


Change Philanthropy announces open call for UNITY Summit session proposal ideas. Application deadline is April 30.


The Key to Community program at the Philadelphia Foundation aims to accelerate the impact of nine solutions that are working and can be scaled and sustained to meet a significant community need or opportunity. Application deadline is April 29.

NOLOSE offers grants of $100 - $1,000 to support projects that expand the reach of fat queer and trans activism. Application deadline is May 31.

The Point Community College Program was created for LGBTQ Students interested in attending a four-year college or university. Application deadline is May 1.

The Texas Pride Impact Funds (TPIF) supports the work of nonprofit organizations whose mission focuses on securing the future of the LGBTQ community in Texas. Application deadline is May 10.

The ACCELERATE Community Grant supports the development of sustainable systematic services for Black gay men in Jackson, MS, and Baltimore, MD. Application deadline is June 28.




RECENT GRANTS AWARDED


24 recipients of the 2019 Boston Pride Community Fund have received a total of $43,610, a record level of grantmaking for the fund.

Fertile Ground Fund at the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, a fund that provides flexible funding based on the shifting needs and desires of grantee partners, announced its latest awards.

The Transforming Movements Fund (TMF) at Borealis Philanthropy awarded $970,000 in general operating, organizational development, and leadership development support to eight organizations across the country.

The fund awarded 16 grants totaling $55,050 to local nonprofit organizations with programs that positively impact the local LGBTQ+ community bringing its cumulative grantmaking total to $530,000 since the fund was established in 2001.
