Children Living in Poverty
Ramadan at FAITH has always been one of the most exciting times of the year. The preparations start as early as in spring with the Annual Ladies Fundraiser that benefits the 112 Children living in poverty and help raise money for their summer and winter clothing. Right before Ramadan, the children’s program distributes festive baskets to the families with nutritious items loved, especially by children and teens.

Each child is matched with a donor who would buy a gift or gift card of the child’s choice. Our Eid party is one of the most fondly awaited events where, with the help of volunteers, we organize activities that the whole family enjoys and participates in.
What We Know

These children are at greater risk of behavioral and emotional problems. Some behavioral problems may include impulsiveness, difficulty getting along with peers, aggression, ADHD and conduct disorder.

Unfortunately, it stretches from one generation to the next, trapping individuals in a socioeconomic pit that is nearly impossible to ascend.

Being completely aware of these challenges, FAITH Children and Teen Program work with qualified counselors to organize parenting sessions and monthly activities for the children that are not only entertaining but help them cope with normal stresses of life, work productively and make a contribution to the community.

This year, we have had to cancel all of these events, including our fundraiser due to the pandemic, which is having a major social and psychological impact on these vulnerable children.
