Greetings,
This has been an unprecedented academic year, which has both challenged and proved the resilience and adaptability of our academic community. With most of the campus employees now vaccinated, we are finally starting to see signs of a return to normalcy, including the plan for in-person teaching in the fall.
Below, we share with you some recent highlights and news. We are especially thrilled to welcome Professor Magnus Egerstedt as incoming dean of the Samueli School of Engineering and new faculty member of the EECS department. The much-anticipated Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building (ISEB) just opened and will host collaborations between engineering, information and computer sciences, physical sciences and medicine. Our faculty and students continue to pursue research discoveries and broader impact activities.
Enjoy the summer, and I look forward to seeing you, hopefully in person, soon.
