IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Cancellation of Indoor Rentals
& Limited City Hall Staff / Hours
Out of an abundance of caution and due to the rising case numbers in Oakland County, we are cancelling the INDOOR rentals of the Community Room through December 31, 2020.  

Effective Monday, November 16, 2020,, administration staff is reduced, with as many working remotely.as feasible. With the reduced staffing, the City Administration Front Counter will be CLOSED daily from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, to allow staff to break for lunch and have a mid-day opportunity to sanitize their work area.

Veterans COVID-29 Emergency Financial Relief
Oakland County has established $1 million in emergency financial assistance for Oakland County veterans, service members and eligible family members affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Financial assistance can be provided for:

  • Housing
  • Utilities
  • Food Assistance
  • ​Child Care
  • Home & Vehicle Repairs
  • Other Financial Impacts due to COVID-19

Pigs for Wigs Fundraiser
The Lathrup Village Police Department is participating in "No-shave November" through the "Pigs 4 Wigs" campaign to raise funds for children experiencing hair loss. Last year LVPD raised enough money for a child to get a brand new wig. Participating Michigan departments have raised almost $7,000 with LVPD contributing $170!

The fundraiser runs through January 1, 2020. To donate to LVPD's efforts, click here.
Lathrup Village Dog Park Grand Opening

The Lathrup Village Dog is now open! The Grand Open occurred on November 7th and featured free snacks and giveaways. Check out the video from the Grand Opening here.

Interested in joining the Lathrup Village Dog Park? The park is located on the site of one of the old roller hockey rinks behind Annie Lathrup School. Cost is just $15 per dog for residents, $5 for each additional dog in the household. Non-residents also welcome. Applications are available in City Hall or here. Want to get involved as a volunteer? Join the Friends of the Lathrup Village Dog Park group on Facebook. Check it out here.

Lathrup Business Bingo

Shop Small the month of November and support local businesses by participating in the Lathrup Business Bingo! Bingo runs all month long until Shop Small Saturday, November 28th.

Earn bingo? Turn in your card by November 28th at 1:30 pm at the Winter Market to earn a prize! Fill your card and be entered for the grand prize.

Get a Bingo card by grabbing one from City Hall (27400 Southfield Rd), a participating business, or downloading one here.
Winter Market
Join us in Shopping Small in Lathrup Village at the FREE outdoor Winter Market taking place on Shop Small Saturday, November 28th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm!  Treat yourself or shop for unique, handmade holiday gifts. A food truck and coffee vendor will be on site.

We are accepting canned and dry foods as a form of admission. Proceeds will go to Lighthouse (South Oakland Shelter).

Please note this is an outdoor event. Social-distancing and masks are required.
Tree Lighting

It's almost time for the annual tree lighting at city hall. This year Santa will be on hand for a safe, socially-distanced visit. Free giveaways and hot beverages too. We can't wait to see you.
Actual tree lighting will be at 8pm.
Social-distancing and masks are required. This is an outdoor event.

OAKLAND COUNTY
RENT, MORTGAGE & UTILITY RELIEF PROGRAM


Oakland County is dedicating Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, from the federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, for eligible Oakland County residents to pay up to three months of past-due rent, mortgage, and utility payments as a result of a temporary job loss, reduction in work hours or other income hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
