Dear Parents,
I had a wonderful time in the Science Lab this week teaching our VPK kids about magnetism. Students learned about the words attract and repel. After testing several items with a magnet, students graphed their results. Our students are continuing to taste the foods growing in the garden. What a yummy healthy experience.
We are excited that Papa Johns will be presenting a check for $4,016 to our school. Silver Door will have a pizza party on that day. Because we did so well, Papa Johns decided to award prizes to the 6 top families. They will take home a prize pack. Those families include Kaeden Jenkins, Aleeeyah Darchee, Grayson Martinez, Pablo Rojas, Nicholas Huarte, and the Gibbs Siblings. Thank you to everyone who offered their support. We still have extra cards if anyone needs them.
We are super excited that next week our VPK and K-2 classes will be celebrating a week-long celebration of Dr. Suess. In honor of Dr. Suess' Birthday and to help our classes build their Dr. Suess Libraries, families are invited to purchase gift books from our Dr. Suess Amazon Wish List. Last week I shared the information of a wonderful local accountant that Kids For Kids has used for years. She does big and small businesses, bookkeeping, payroll, and individual taxes. She will be here on Wednesday afternoon if you wish to meet her. Stop by and say hi to Vivian when you pick up your child between 3:00 and 5:30.
VPK PARENTS PLEASE HELP: We have had a huge number of children coming to school after 9:00. Please help by having your child to school on time. It is a big disruption when the door opens for late students. Thank you for your assistance with this.
Finally, we are looking to do a room expansion on one of our rooms. We need to take down a wall. If you know a contractor who would be willing do give us a quote, please let us know. We have also been getting quotes to put new shade sails on our playground. I had no idea the price would be in the $25,000 range. If you know someone who does that and would like to give us a quote, we are taking all bids into consideration.
