Hello check out the latest news and updates from the University Center for International Education for Wright State international community.
Student Spotlight - Anirudh Kedia
Anirudh Kedia is one of our international students from Gurgaon, India. Anirudh is in his 3rd year of the Human Factors and Industrial Organizational Psychology program.

I joined WSU in Fall 2019, just at the right time to experience campus life before everything went online. Being a part of a research intensive program, I had to hit the ground running and got busy designing studies for my thesis and completing coursework. That's why I enjoyed the various activities and initiatives organized by the UCIE and IFI Dayton, which provided a welcome break and gave me a chance to meet some new people.

Being an Aviation Geek, I chose Wright State because of its location in the birthplace of Aviation and the chance to do research with the Airforce base where Human Factors Psychology, the field that I love, was pioneered. The faculty in the Human Factors program is also well regarded in the industry and have either personally authored or known the authors of the reading we study!

As a fitness and TV buff, when I'm not working on my thesis you'll usually find me at the gym, cooking some healthy and nutritious meals, or binging the latest Netflix show. I also like taking road trips with my Fiancé and would like to do one to the Grand Canyon; it's a the top of my bucket list. I also follow Indian cricket diligently (thank God for my Willo subscription!) and you'll find me awake at odd hours to watch matches being played around the world, live. You can imagine the kind of stress grad school puts you under, so I like spending time with my pet cat Lucy, which never fails to alleviate my stress. Lastly, I also run a blog on Medium which you can check out here.

I would encourage people to step out of their bubble and interact with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. I know it's comforting to be around people who speak the same language as you or eat the same food, or have the same world views, but in order to make full use of your time at Wright State, you should try challenging yourself to interact with different people.
