Kettle Moraine School District Superintendent Dr. Patricia F. Deklotz provides her weekly update. Her topics include:

1. Statement on recent lawsuit brought against the district

2. Anticipated school board support for no school Nov. 6

3. Learning environment change request deadline is Oct. 23
REMINDER: Learning Environment Change Request Period Ends Friday
A link to a change request form was shared via Infinite Campus Oct. 19 and requests will be open through Oct. 23. The next opportunity to request a change will occur in January with the start of term three.

If you plan to make a change, please consider the impact a potential quarantine might have on your family in the coming quarter/term and select the correct environment. Due to staffing needs and configurations:

  1. Changes at the elementary level will likely cause reassignment of your child’s teacher and class configuration, regardless of your family's decision. In addition, changes in either direction will not be honored after October 23.
  2. KM will not be able to honor changes at the middle and high school levels from distance learning to face-to-face learning after October 23.
  3. At the high school level, selecting distance learning may alter your student’s term two course selections.

  • NOTE: This change request form is only necessary if you want to change your environment for the second quarter/term, which begins Nov. 9.

KMHS Choirs Renaissance Event
The Kettle Moraine High School choirs are spending the week of October 19 filming for the Renaissance Event. The a cappella choir students have formed committees and leadership teams to take on everything from gathering recipes to costuming all of the choir students to developing a digital program and video editing. There was also a stage decorating crew and teams of students who choreographed a renaissance style dance as well as wrote, cast and directed the Masque (play) for our production.

SAVE THE DATE: We are anxious to bring the finished product to our parents and community on Sunday, November 1 at 4 p.m. (via a digital broadcast). The video will remain available after that date for students and families to continue to share and enjoy.
