Dear Parents,
Wow - if there is one thing this year has taught me, it is to be flexible with everything from basic daily routines to years and years of traditions at work, home, church, family, holidays, etc. It is very overwhelming at times, and then there are moments of clarity and of being thankful for the great things happening all around. The big ones are driven to the forefront - our health and the health of our kids and families.
We have been extremely fortunate and blessed with good health at St. Matt's. We have not had one student test positive to date. We do have a few kiddos quarantined due to parent or family members testing positive, and we do have a few students out with the occasional normal fall sicknesses. We have not had to go virtual yet, however, should we see a trend or spread happening in one of our classrooms, we will have to cross that bridge at the time. Many schools are having to go virtual due teacher and staff member shortages due to quarantines. We have not had to deal with much of that yet, so hopefully this trend will continue.
The holiday season may present some difficulties and challenges as predicted by the county. Please see the county recommendations for the holidays in the Facebook link that was sent out yesterday and the flyer that went home today. Thank you for doing your part in keeping us in school.
Have a great weekend!
