MICHIGAN CALLS
Northville Art House seeks entries for its juried collage art exhibition, "Shear Madness" being held Jan. 13-Feb. 6, 2021. Cash awards of $650 for 1st-4th place and honorable mention. Artists 18 and over may submit a maximum of three original collage works of art composed by arranging and gluing or otherwise affixing pieces of paper, fabric, photographs or other mixed media to a surface. Charlevoix Circle of Arts seeks entries for its juried art exhibition, "re|ART" to be held on Feb. 1-27, 2021. Cash awards will be given. ARC is searching for your creative endeavors as a reflection of your process under the current circumstances, keeping artists alone but pulling together into a community. Manifest, the international Cincinnati-based non-profit arts organization and gallery, invites visual artists to submit works of art about timing as it relates to the five themes of Who, What, Where, When and Why for their upcoming exhibition. SlowArt Productions announces "Emerging Artists," the 29th annual competition for gallery exhibition and publication awards. This exhibition is devoted to the discovery, introduction and promotion of emerging artists. It will be held March 4-27, 2021, at the Limner Gallery and is open to all artists working in any medium. Creative Capital presents "Artist Finances: Getting Through the Pandemic and Beyond" online workshop. In this workshop, CPA Elaine Grogan Luttrull will focus on the new CARES Act legislation, managing cash flow, long-term budgeting, planning and financial management, taking into consideration revised income streams and continued uncertainty from the new economic reality. Held on Oct. 21, 2020,
Creative Capital presents the online workshop "Ethical Storytelling Practices." This workshop takes artists through a framework for values-based storytelling and shares examples of how to put those values into practice. As artists step into their power to build and shape narratives that affect the lives of those around them, it is important to consider not just what stories are told, but how stories are told. Led by creative strategist and documentary impact producer Sonya Childress. This workshop is taught by and for BIPOC artist disruptors to strengthen their craft, practice and build power.
