Our new sermon series from the book of Judges:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but is “right living” also in the eye of the beholder? Society at large says, “Yes!” What happens when God’s people agree; when expression of faith in Jesus Christ becomes a matter of doing what is “right in our own eyes”? The book of Judges reveals what happens: distortion, disintegration, and destruction both personally and communally.
So where do we turn when we realize that other than some of the language we use (grace, repentance, salvation) and how we occupy our Sunday mornings (and maybe Wednesday evenings) aren’t that different than the world around us? Where do we, God’s people, turn for help?
Yes, Jesus is the answer. But how do we experience him as our answer?

Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., our Music Ministry department is hosting a fellowship opportunity for all who love to sing and wish to praise God. All are invited to join us in the sanctuary for what we refer to as “SING SAFE!!”. It's a time to sing from the hymnbook, sing praise songs and other songs. We'll also read scripture and pray for one another in our sanctuary where seating space allows for safe social distancing. Masks will be required to enter the building. We hope to see you there! Thank yous:
We are so grateful for your recent gift to Newgate Mission during the challenging and uncertain times...Newgate Mission is a life raft in times of crisis, as we have been for 30 years. Your gift will truly make a difference in the lives of so many facing these challenges, including many children who are obtaining meals at Newgate Mission while schools are closed...YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. Thank you for being a blessing to us all. Blessings to you and yours, Hollie Bruce, Executive Director
Thank you so very much for your love, prayers and support to House of Hope. You are appreciated. Your generous gift donation allows us to continue to serve the homeless in our community. We are witnessing the transformation with several persons' lives as the love and grace of God moves them...Again, we pray you will continue to be abundantly blessed. Sister Helen Johnson & House of Hope

Volunteers Needed Sept. 19 at Newgate Mission
|
|
Longview EPC volunteers cook and serve up breakfast at Newgate Mission located at 207 S Mobberly Ave, Longview, TX 75602. Each 3rd Saturday of the month at 6:45 am Andy Howell heads up a crew of 5 or 6 folks (or sometimes only 4 as seen below!) as they prepare eggs, biscuits, sausage and gravy. Newgate has arranged for this to be safe during covid- the food is prepared and packaged and they hand it out - instead of serving in the dining area. Click HERE to sign up for this fun and rewarding experience! Each 3rd Sat of the month is available.
