Lake Nona Middle School

This is only a four-day school week for students as they have no school on Friday, October 18th. Friday will still be a regular work day for teachers as they prepare their plans for the second nine-week quarter - adjusted OCPS 2019-2020 calendar.

This coming Wednesday, October 16th will be a regular, full-length school day to accommodate testing throughout OCPS. This applies to all OCPS campuses, not just Lake Nona, so please plan accordingly.

Thank you to everyone that turned out to hear our Knight band perform during their Fall Concert (pictures below). We have some very talented young musicians and it was a wonderful event! Please be sure to mark your calendar for our upcoming Fall Orchestra Concert on Tuesday, October 29th as it promises to be another terrific performance!

Thank you for looking over this latest edition and have a great week Knights!

With Knight Pride,

Stephanie R. Jackson, M. Ed.

Royal Knights
Congratulations to our LNMS Royals for taking home 1st and 2nd Place in the Orange County Special Olympics Bowling Competition!!! GOOO KNIGHTS!!!!

Knight Faculty Challenge
Congratulations goes out to all of our educators who participated!

To build relationships and learn more about our Hispanic and Latino students, teachers were challenged to connect with at least three students and learn something about those students. Teachers were asked to have conversations with students from different countries to learn more about them, to include favorite hobbies, sports, books, movies, etc.

The teacher who connected with the most students was Ms. Sharlene Melendez, who teaches 8th grade science. While teachers were challenged to build a relationship with at least three students, Ms. Melendez went above and beyond to connect with twelve students!
