Welcome to the Life Course Intervention Research Network's newsletter!

Funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), the Life Course Intervention Research Network (LCIRN) is a collaborative research and learning network designed bring together a diverse group of researchers, health care providers, and family/community stakeholders to develop and promote disruptive and transformational changes to the ways we improve health outcomes over the life span. The LCIRN is based on the foundational work of the Life Course Research Network, funded by MCHB and led by UCLA from 2010-2019.

The network is comprised of a National Coordinating Center at UCLA and research nodes led by experts at partner institutions. Click here to learn more about the LCIRN.
Advancing Life Course Intervention Research:
Join our Research Nodes!
Research nodes are one of the most important functional components of the LCIRN. The nodes bring together researchers and stakeholders from different institutions to build the field of life course intervention research by filling in key gaps in knowledge around specific life course influences, leverage points, or periods of development; developing new tools; designing and testing interventions; and pushing the conceptual thinking around specific topic areas.

Nodes are also a great opportunity for early-career investigators to work with senior researchers who are leaders in their field. Nodes that are currently recruiting include:

  • Measurement node: particularly interested in those with strong measurement methodology interest and experience, and a user-centered and community-based design framework for measurement. Also looking for early and mid-career investigators who could connect this work with their career development and future grant proposals.

  • Adversity and Resilience: Looking for researchers interested in ACEs, particularly methodologists with expertise in measuring resilience factors as well as stress biomarkers, and experts in built environment and stress/resilience.

If you’re interested in joining a node, please send background info and examples of your work to lcirn@mednet.ucla.edu and indicate which node you are interested in.
