Student Instructional Selection for 2nd Six Weeks - Deadline Extended
Beginning Monday September 21 and continuing through Monday, September 28th, the Houston ISD is asking all families to consider the learning setting for their student(s) beginning October 19.  Families will either choose to remain in a virtual/online setting or commit to returning to campus for face-to-face instruction.  Please note that the default selection for each student is face-to-face instruction.

Parents will make their selection through the HISD Connect Parent Portal "Forms" section. Parents will be able log in and select in-person or virtual learning for the second six weeks of the 2020 school year. As we continue through the fall and spring semesters, you will have the opportunity to update this at the end of each six-weeks cycle.  This process will ensure campuses can begin planning for physical space, staffing, and scheduling.

Parents who have not yet signed up to access the Parent Portal should utilize the access code that was sent via email to students HISD email address.
  • Students for which a selection has not been made by the deadline automatically will be selected for in-person learning for planning purposes.
  • For campuses where the number of in-person selections are more than can be accommodated to ensure social-distancing guidelines, there may be a phase-in process.

NHS to Offer Tutoring

ALL Bellaire students (9th to 12th grade) needing assistance in Math, English, Social Studies, Foreign Languages, and the Sciences. Our tutors are NHS members who have already taken the course, whether it's an IB/AP course or is a course in another curriculum, and did well in it. Here is how you access the service:
2. Click on "Students" at the top of the home page.
3. Fill in the tutoring request form. You must give NHS 24-hour notice so that we can arrange for a tutoring session.
4. You will be paired with an NHS tutor, who will notify you of the time and date for the tutoring session. A full session lasts 30 minutes and takes place during Cardinal Hour. No tutoring is done before or after school or on weekends.
5. All tutoring sessions will be recorded.

Back to School - Parent Forms
If you thought you were being spared from all those first day forms that we love, please know that they are still alive and kicking.  However they are electronic this year and that's very exciting.

We need you to login to HISD Connect Parent Portal (It can be found on our website on the left-hand side under Helpful Links).  Once inside the parent portal you will see on the left-hand side a link to FORMS.

While all the forms are important, we want to specifically draw your attention to the Socio-Economic Form as this impacts our overall school budget in a large way.
It is critical that these forms be completed as soon as possible so that we may maximize our overall school funding.  If you have any questions about the forms then please contact Miriam Mulet (mmulet1@houstonisd.org).
