League Link is an electronic communications service from the Indiana Credit Union League and is sent regularly to Managers/CEOs of affiliated credit unions. It contains a variety of information on activities at the League and a summary of important messages that have been sent by the League. Many of the items here contain links to the League's website. Upcoming Meetings and Education Sessions
Again this year, prior to the start of the League's Annual Convention, the League will be offering three roundtables targeted at specific roles at the credit union at the JW Marriott Downtown Indianapolis. These sessions are open to Convention attendees and non-attendees.

Learn about plans for regional CUs on Tap events in 2020 that also will feature professional development sessions presented by Corporate One FCU .
IRA Essentials, presented by Training Consultant Ben Maas of Ascensus, gives attendees a solid foundation of IRA knowledge. Exercises are included throughout the day to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Attendees will leave this session able to work with IRA owners and process basic IRA transactions with confidence. This is a beginner's session, no previous IRA knowledge is assumed.
Advanced IRAs, presented by Training Consultant Ben Maas of Ascensus, builds on the attendees' basic IRA knowledge to address some of the more complex IRA issues that their financial organizations may handle. This is an advanced session; previous IRA knowledge is assumed.
The Indiana League is part of TRGroup, a collaboration of seven state leagues, which is presenting Human Resources University. We have teamed up with Woods Rogers Attorneys for a two-day event that will cover many of the things that are important to successful Human Resources programs.
This session will begin with an overview of current HR issues credit unions are faced with. This presentation will be followed by a roundtable discussion of topics submitted by registered attendees.

Credit Union Trends Report
CUNA Mutual Group provides a Credit Union Trends Report each month, containing the latest information on the state of credit union lending, membership and assets. The Executive Summary of the September 2019 report, which is based on July data can be found here.

Highlights of the report include:
 
  • Credit union loan balances are up 2.8% year-to-date, around half the 5.5% pace set last year.
  • Used-auto loan balances are rising at a remarkably low 2.4% seasonally-adjusted annualized growth rate, which is down from the 8.5% pace reported one year ago.
  • Credit unions originated $67.9 billion first mortgage loans in the first half of 2019, a 3.4% decrease below the $70.3 billion in originations in the first half of 2018.
