Message from the Head of School

Dear Goshen families,

Happy New Year and welcome back!

If you are a weather-watcher like myself, you already know that January looks like it might cooperate, giving our Preschoolers more than ample opportunity for fresh air and sunshine. We will also take time this month to share the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr., who still inspires us all to care for people in need. Service is a core value at Goshen Friends School, and we are committed to giving students opportunities to serve their community. For a look at some of the ways our little ones have helped their neighbors, please take a look at our year in review.

The legacy of Dr. King will be the focus of our next All School Gathering Thursday, January 9 at 10:30 am in the Meetinghouse. We will talk as a group about Dr. King and how we can help others in need; the Bumblebees will sing a song! All are welcome!

School will be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 20), but we invite families to participate in a special morning of service from 9:30 to 11am at the Chester County Food Bank in Exton. We will tour the facilities and help decorate containers used for delivering food to food-insecure seniors in Chester County. Please bring a box or two of healthy cereal (Cheerios, Rice Chex), and help food bank staff stock your donations for distribution! Please look for a flyer with all the details coming home this week!

Finally, be on the lookout this week for more information regarding Parent-Teacher conferences and enrollment procedures for the 2020-2021 school year.

Best wishes for another great year of learning, fun and service!

In Friendship,
Tr. Mimi
