Serra's Reopening Week Runs Smoothly
Dear Parents and Guardians,

It has been a pleasure to have our upperclassmen back on campus this week. There is a certain calm on campus as we all navigate our in-person hybrid schedule. We will continue to fine tune this effort to make everyone’s time here on campus safe and engaging. We will continue to update you on any changes or updates to our plans.

Thanksgiving Holiday
The Thanksgiving holiday is in a couple weeks and we hope that all of our families will use caution when choosing how to celebrate. Traditional Thanksgiving gatherings with family and friends are fun but can increase the chances of getting or spreading COVID-19.
The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year is to celebrate with people in your household. If you do plan to spend Thanksgiving with people outside your household, take steps to make your celebration safer, such as eating outside, wearing masks, socially distancing and avoiding food buffets.
If you are planning high-risk travel, such as going on an airplane to another state, Serra is asking that students quarantine for two weeks before returning to campus. We are returning to campus on December 7 with our lower division students and want to continue to keep our Serra community safe.

Health Screening with Ruvna
Thank you to all our students who have been on campus this week, and completed the health screening through Ruvna before school each morning. This has been very helpful and easy to manage. Please remember that if your son is given a message that he should not report to school due to health concerns, you still need to contact the Attendance Office: [email protected] to let us know that your son will not be on campus that day.

COVID Reporting
As we continue in the hybrid schedule, it is very important that any suspected cases or students who are in direct contact with someone who tests positive, notify the school immediately. Families should email [email protected], so that we can be in close communication with the family and the county in an effort to keep our community healthy.

Reopening Website
The Serra website hosts a new reopening page that holds all communication and protocols for our return to campus. Please visit the site for any questions you might have about our procedures during our AB Hybrid Learning model.

Thank you for making our safety a priority, as we welcome back our Serra Padres to campus.
Sincerely,
Charlie McGrath
Principal
ThanksGIVEday is November 19

ThanksGIVEday is in a little more than a week and we need your support. We are targeting our fundraising to fund critical technology upgrades necessary for our teachers to engage the students at the highest level.
Our focus at Serra High School continues to be providing a transformative experience that builds men of faith, virtue, leadership and philanthropy. Teaching our students the rewarding privilege of giving back is fundamental to their overall high school experience. As we have seen all too well in 2020, we need our future leaders to feel the responsibility to give to others in need.
ThanksGIVEday is an opportunity for the entire Serra community -- our students and our alumni -- to unite and show its support.
Food Drive This Saturday at St. Matthews Catholic School

Thanksgiving is coming up. To stock up for the holiday, a local chapter of St. Vincent De Paul is hosting a food drive on November 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Matthew Catholic Church Parking Lot on One Notre Dame Avenue.

Some of the items they are looking for are peanut butter, canned vegetables, boxed cereal, canned meats, and pasta and pasta sauce. This will be a contactless, curbside drop-off at the church. Let’s stock the shelves together!

Four Serra Padres will be onsite to receive donations on Saturday. For more information, please email Jack Olson for more information.

Zoph Library Blog This Week: Honoring our Veterans

In this week's Zoph Library blog we join in honoring veterans and we offer a few notes on the library's operations under Serra's new hybrid school model.

Each week, the Zoph Library Blog will discuss a new and different thought-provoking topic. Be sure to look for the blog in Spotlight each week.
Serra Parents, Tell Your Friends About Serra's Admissions Events

Serra's reputation speaks for itself, but it helps to get the word out when current families share their experiences with prospective families.
We encourage all our parents to tell your friends about the incredible virtual events Serra's Admissions Office is hosting.

Every Wednesday a webinar highlights a new dimension of Serra. From affordability to athletics, ARC to academics, there are endless opportunities for prospective parents and students to learn more about Serra.

Students can also enjoy a virtual Padre for A Day experience or a Teacher MeetUp. These events allow prospective students and families to view Serra through the viewpoints of students, teachers, parents, coaches, and staff.

Families can register for these Serra events after creating a profile on the Ravenna Hub.
