Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been a pleasure to have our upperclassmen back on campus this week. There is a certain calm on campus as we all navigate our in-person hybrid schedule. We will continue to fine tune this effort to make everyone’s time here on campus safe and engaging. We will continue to update you on any changes or updates to our plans.
Thanksgiving Holiday
The Thanksgiving holiday is in a couple weeks and we hope that all of our families will use caution when choosing how to celebrate. Traditional Thanksgiving gatherings with family and friends are fun but can increase the chances of getting or spreading COVID-19.
The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year is to celebrate with people in your household. If you do plan to spend Thanksgiving with people outside your household, take steps to make your celebration safer, such as eating outside, wearing masks, socially distancing and avoiding food buffets.
If you are planning high-risk travel, such as going on an airplane to another state, Serra is asking that students quarantine for two weeks before returning to campus. We are returning to campus on December 7 with our lower division students and want to continue to keep our Serra community safe.
Health Screening with Ruvna
Thank you to all our students who have been on campus this week, and completed the health screening through Ruvna before school each morning. This has been very helpful and easy to manage. Please remember that if your son is given a message that he should not report to school due to health concerns, you still need to contact the Attendance Office: [email protected] to let us know that your son will not be on campus that day.
COVID Reporting
As we continue in the hybrid schedule, it is very important that any suspected cases or students who are in direct contact with someone who tests positive, notify the school immediately. Families should email [email protected], so that we can be in close communication with the family and the county in an effort to keep our community healthy.
Reopening Website
The Serra website hosts a new reopening page that holds all communication and protocols for our return to campus. Please visit the site for any questions you might have about our procedures during our AB Hybrid Learning model.
Thank you for making our safety a priority, as we welcome back our Serra Padres to campus.
