GENERAL
HUNGRY STUDENTS ALERT
Starting TODAY and continuing through winter break, the cafeteria is offering curbside pickup for FREE breakfast and lunch every school day from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. This program is open to any student 18 and under and recipients do not need to be enrolled in PVPUSD. No pre-order is required. All meals include an entrée, choice of milk and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Menus are at pvpusdschoolnutrition.net.

YEARBOOK PICK UP/LATE SALES
Yearbooks will now be available for pickup next Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 or until the supply runs out. Drive by the front of the gym to pick up your yearbook and be sure to have your name printed on a sheet of paper on the passenger side of the car. If you still need to purchase a yearbook, there are some available for sale. Remember, it's exact change cash only and the price is $140.
 
SERVICE LEARNING LEADERSHIP
Calling all Panthers! Service Learning Leadership is excited to host our first virtual event this year for National Week of Encouragement. Each day you have the opportunity to write a note of encouragement to people or a person in the following groups: TODAY: teachers; and FRIDAY: free choice. Follow @pvphsservicelearning on Instagram for daily templates and reminders. Let's encourage one another!
 
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Attention juniors and seniors with unweighted, cumulative GPAs of 3.65 or more! NHS is looking for new members for the coming year and if you missed the meeting last week, don't worry. Come to the mandatory make-up online TEAMS information meeting TODAY at 6:30 pm to find out NHS guidelines regarding community service and leadership as well as how to submit the Candidate Information Packet. JNHS
The Japanese National Honor Society will have a mandatory meeting on TEAMS for all new and returning members TODAY at 4:00 pm. In order to attend, all participants must fill out the form you will find here.
 
KNHS
The Korean National Honor Society will have a mandatory meeting on TEAMS for new and returning members TOMORROW, Sept. 11at 3:00 pm. All participants must fill out this form and submit it before tomorrow in order to attend.
 
NSSHS
Applications to Pen's National Social Science Honor Society are open now through Saturday, Sept. 19. Fill out the application here and email to [email protected].
 
CSF APPLICATIONS
California Scholarship Federation, California's oldest honor society, begins their fall collection this week online. Check to see if your name is on the eligibility list by clicking here. If it is, visit the PVPHS webstore here to apply for membership by making your payment to CSF. The membership fee is $25 per semester and no applications are needed this semester only. Be sure your name is on the list prior to purchasing as there are no refunds. Freshmen are not eligible to apply as membership is based on last semester's grades. Seniors-remember that to achieve Sealbearer status, you must have at least one semester of membership in CSF during your senior year. The collection period ends TODAY at 5:00 pm. NEHS DUES
All members of the National English Honor Society should have your dues paid by Tuesday, Sept. 15 through Pen's website.
 
SAT SEPTEMBER TEST
PV High will not be a SAT testing site in September. Students and families who signed up for that testing date will be notified directly by email from the College Board of the closure.
 
COLLEGE CAREER CENTER
NAVIANCE
Students should access their Naviance account through their student SSO Portal. Directions to access the student portal are here. If you request a password change, you will be directed to your student portal.
 
VIRTUAL COLLEGE REP VISITS
The CCC has scheduled virtual college visits through November. Two to three schools will be combined per visit and all meetings are in conjunction with PVHS. You must register on Naviance by 3:00 pm the Friday prior to the event in order to attend and follow the rules as directed. Included in this week's visits are Pepperdine; University of Colorado, Boulder; Boston University; Vanderbilt; DePaul; University of Wisconsin; Skidmore College; and Union College. The international schools of American University of Paris and EHL will also attend. Don't miss out; these schools only visit once a year. The complete schedule is on Naviance or click here.
 
COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE SERIES NO. 2
The virtual knowledge series continues TODAY at 6:30 pm with an overview of the UC system presented by CuCa Acosta, associate director of school services at UC Santa Barbara. ROBOTICS TEAM
If you are interested in joining the Robotics Team, email Mr. Twiet at [email protected] to register for the virtual introductory meeting TOMORROW, Sept. 11 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
