Tournament Teams

Our GVBL Tournament Teams have finished up their regular seasons and playoff seedings are set. All five of our teams playing in the ICBA this year had outstanding success! 5th grade boys will have a home first round game against Perk Valley and 8th grade boys a home first round against Whitemarsh. 7th grade boys are away at Owen J Roberts while the 7th grade girls have a first round bye.

The Storm closed out the Malvern League and ICBA regular season this past weekend. On Friday night, the team made the trek to Council Rock and lost an overtime thriller 39-37. On Sunday, the Storm hosted Hatboro-Horsham and cruised to a 28-15 victory to finish out the regular season in ICBA. In the last Malvern League game, the Storm lost to the Thunder. On the weekend, Sophia Kauler was a beast on the glass securing plenty of rebounds and also adding 10 points on Friday night. The Storm now looks to the ICBA playoffs and will receive a bye as the #2 seed in the division.

The 29ers wrapped up the ICBA regular season with a win over the weekend, securing the third seed in the playoffs. Tanner Melia led scoring with 8 points, while Blake Sacchetta, James McCollum, Cooper Willey, and Matthew Kasser each added four points. The 29ers gave great effort in a loss to Radnor in Malvern League play. Aaryan Dwiveldi led the team with 6 points, with Ishaan Vereddigari (5 points) and Kai Nakayama (2 points) also contributing. Yash Patel, Jordan Chi, and Ryan Mangam all had multiple rebounds on the defensive end. The 29ers look forward to their final Malvern League game and the start of ICBA playoffs next weekend!
GVHS Girls Basketball

The GVHS Girls knocked off the 8th seed Downingtown East Cougars 38-25 in the District 1 Playoffs to punch their ticket to the PIAA 6A Championships! Congratulations and best of luck the rest of the way!
Monte Carlo Night

Join us on March 4th, 2022 from 6-11PM at the Desmond Hotel for our annual GVBL Monte Carlo Fundraiser! This event will include food, an open bar, casino games hosted by Monte Carlo Casino Entertainment LLC, basket and prize raffles, 50/50 raffle, and a virtual auction for both those in attendance at the Desmond and those unable to attend.
Tickets are on sale now - $80 for a single ticket and $150 for 2!

Each ticket purchased until 3/1 includes $50 in casino chips for games such as poker, blackjack, craps, roulette and more. Chips can be redeemed for raffle tickets for $100 gift baskets, gift cards and other prizes.

We politely request that each Monte Carlo attendee adheres to the smart casual dress code. For men, this means neat chinos or a pair of dark-colored jeans with a shirt, a blazer, and a pair of leather shoes. Your outfit should be well-fitting but slightly less formal than a business casual or business professional style. For women, this means more relaxed clothing but still fits well and creates a polished appearance. This could be dark-wash jeans, dress pants, skirts and blouses, and more. Masks will be optional.
Our virtual auction site is live and bidding has begun. Here is a sampling:

GVCO Project Update
GVCO is excited to announce that we have been awarded $750,000.00 of state funding to assist with the construction of our new GVCO Community Center. With the help of Senator Comitta to secure the funding, GVCO sees this as another milestone towards making this wonderful community asset a reality for Great Valley and the surrounding region.

Please see Senator Comitta's recent announcement of the grant this past Monday. We would also like to thank Governor Wolf and the Office of the Budget of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for authorizing this award, supporting GVCO and our project.

GVCO Donor Spotlight
The Barrow Family - Greg, Sandi, Jack, & Ryan
Greg & Sandi both grew up in the area. Sandi is a proud GV alum. Greg owns an insurance agency, and Sandi is most proud of being a mom.

They first heard of GVCO when a little girl came to Jack’s preschool class with her Junior Hoopsters trophy. They knew immediately they had to get the boys involved, and it was love at first sight. The GVBL program was amazing & still is impressive today. Both boys played through high school. Ryan is still playing in the High School division.

In 2010 when GVCO started a youth football program with the Junior Patriots, Sandi & Greg knew their boys, 5 & 7 at the time, would be thrilled to jump on board. It was the best seven seasons ever with GVFL. Greg coached, and Sandi was a GVFL Board Member and League Representative for four seasons.

Not only playing the games & having fun over the years, but it is the life-long friends we have all made that are truly the magic of GVCO. It was essential to pass this spirit on to younger families by supporting GVCO and the new center.

We cannot wait to see all of the happy faces, young and old, at the new GVCO center.
