On September 16, 2020 at 12 p.m., Key Biscayne Fire Rescue will host Ana M. Moreno of R & A Therapeutic Partners to discuss Signs of Suicide S.O.S. This difficult topic needs to be discussed in communities and with families.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of June 2020, 40% of U.S. adults reported struggling with mental health or substance use. This includes suicidal ideation, which is the formulation of ideas or concepts of suicide. This is a health crisis that affects every community, every type of person and every family across our nation.

Stealing Political Signs is a Crime
|
|
|
The Village has seen multiple thefts of political signs over the past several days. Police are using surveillance video in an attempt to identify the offenders.
Despite the fact that there is little monetary value to the signs themselves, it is still theft and, if caught, the offenders will be charged accordingly.
Please afford all citizens the right to support the candidate of their choice without having to fear theft or vandalism.

Key Biscayne Residents Have Options for Covid-19 Testing
|
|
Health officials are anticipating a spike in COVID-19 cases as a result of the Labor Day holiday weekend. Please remain aware of any COVID-19 symptoms to ensure that you and your loved ones remain healthy.
Get tested if you are feeling COVID-19 like symptoms or have come into contact with someone who has tested positive.
Drive-through testing at the Key Biscayne Community Center remains available 2-days per week, on Mondays and Thursdays, by appointment only and is self-pay. The COVID-19 self-pay cost at the drive-through testing is $85 and registration is available on the Key Biscayne Community Foundation website.
A second option for COVID-19 testing is available to the community, seven days per week from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., via the Baptist Health Urgent Care Express facility located at 240 Crandon Blvd. Suite #110. Patients that present to the Baptist Urgent Care Express will be seen and evaluated by the onsite practitioner, who will order the COVID-19 test as appropriate. Baptist Health does accept most insurances. For uninsured patients or patients with a non-contracted insurance, the COVID test self-pay cost is $199. Patients are welcome to walk in or to use the "Save my Spot" feature to minimize their wait times. For more information, click here.

Miami-Dade County wants to know what is most important to you and your connection to the water. You can help us by taking this important survey—it will only take 10-15 minutes and your input will help us make the right recommendations for the future of our waterways.
The survey will be available through September 20, 2020.

The peak of hurricane season on September 10.
This time of year, we are constantly reminding residents to be prepared for Hurricane Season. It is critical to have an evacuation plan if the Miami-Dade County Mayor calls for an evacuation.
Like everything else during these COVID-19, evacuations may take longer, and planning will be critical.
