Dear Serra Alumnus,

I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter. Whether you were pra cticing social distancing or able to use Zoom, I hope you had an opportunity to connect with your family and friends during these uncertain times.  Even though the holiday is over, we should really try to stay connected with the ones we care for.  Everyday pick up the phone, send an email,  have Zoom time, etc.  It is important to reach out and put a smile on someone's face.

We are so sad to report that our annual Serra Golf Classic has to be postponed. We are focused on planning an event that will gather us all together to reconnect once it is deemed safe. We have already booked the 2021 Serra Golf Classic for June 28, 2021. We sincerely hope you will all join us!   Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Alumni Director
In the News
Zoom becomes the normal method of teaching

The Serra High School faculty and staff have done an outstanding job of teaching our students remotely. Our Academic Team continues to assess, survey and  improve the methods of teaching and communication with our students.  For the last six weeks, our distance learning protocols continue to be fine-tuned to continue to provide a learning environment where our Padres can thrive.
While our school continues to excel given the uncertain terrain, we have had to make some disappointing decisions with regard to some of our school traditions. We are continuing to make end-of-year celebration decisions and will let our alumni community know of them once they are announced. We are committed to finding ways to celebrate our graduating seniors for all their accomplishments.  The senior class is a group of hard-working young men that we are all very proud of.  I will keep you in touch with the graduation plans once they are made public. Go Young Padres! Continue to persevere despite the uncertainty!
COVID Kindness
Uncertain times create a wave of human kindness
Serra has been documenting some beautiful displays of human kindness during this pandemic. If you want to see the wonderful things our Padre community is doing during these difficult times, visit the  Covid Kindness page on our website.  The page includes g reat stories of acts of kindness, what local Padre business are open, and how these family businesses are serving their communities. We are also providing updates to all aspects of how Serra is handling this pandemic and what we are doing as a school to maintain the highest echelon   of education for our students. Please share with us some additional acts of kindness on our Covid Kindness page.

Fund a Dream Goes Virtual
Tuition assistance fundraiser goes virtual with pleasing gains
Thank you to everyone who donated to our annual Fund A Dream event. This year, we had to cancel our physical event and host a virtual opportunity for our community to raise funds for this critical need. More than 36 percent of our students receive financial assistance and given the global pandemic, we believe we will see this number grow.
We are so grateful to our community. which together has raised more than $415,000 for our Pares in need.  "With your help, we can make a young man's dream of a Serra education come true,"  Father Joe Bradley said. "God did not create you to be a success. God created you to be faithful," he added.  Again thank you for helping out our Padres.
Alumni Survey
New survey to be sent to alumni community
All alumni should have received the alumni survey sent out last week.
Please complete your online survey about your experiences at Serra, your path after graduation, and some of the ways you want to stay engaged with Serra. We will keep our survey open through Monday, May 4.
Your responses will be important research as we work to develop a five-year strategic plan to keep Serra at the forefront of educational excellence in the Bay Area.  The survey should not take you more then 10 minutes.
If you did not receive the email survey, please find it HERE.
Alumni News
