Are you a leader who inspires?

Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group which controls more than 400 companies in various fields, identifies the ability to inspire as the single most important leadership skill. The ability to infuse energy, passion, commitment and connection to your chapter's mission and direction is essential.

Inspiration pulls
people towards something that stirs their hearts, minds, or spirit. People are inspired by a person, an event, or a circumstance. The ability to inspire seems intangible and unable to be improved upon. Some leaders may seem by nature to be more inspiring than others, but the trait is not exclusively inborn.

Here's a few tips on how to be an inspiring leader from former CEO of General Electric, Jack Welch. When Welch retired , he received a severance payment of $417 million, the largest such payment in business history. He died in March of this year . He was 84.
Ignite your enthusiasm. Inspiring leaders are inspired themselves.
Navigate the way. Inspiring leaders articulate a vision that is bold, clear, concise, and consistently communicated.
Sell the benefit. Inspiring leaders answer the one question everyone has on their mind: What's in it for me?
Paint a picture. Inspiring leaders paint a picture of a world made better by their service or cause.
Invite participation. Inspiring leaders go beyond "listening". They invite people into the process of growing the chapter.
Reinforce optimism. Inspiring leaders are more optimistic than the average person.
Encourage. Inspiring leaders encourage people to be their best selves.
