Prayers for Our Upcoming National Election
Dear St. Mary's Family,

Election Day is coming up quickly. Our nation is more polarized than I've ever known it to be, and in addition to getting out there to vote, we need to pray! I invite you to join the St. Mary's family in praying for our country in the following ways:

  • In your own private prayers, pray the Collect for the Nation from the Book of Common Prayer daily. Corporately, we will pray this prayer at each Mass between now and the election: Lord God Almighty, who hast made all peoples of the earth for thy glory, to serve thee in freedom and peace: Grant to the people of our country a zeal for justice and the strength of forbearance, that we may use our liberty in accordance with thy gracious will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

  • Join us for Mass on Election Day and the following day at 12:00 p.m. (Tuesday, November 3rd and Wednesday, November 4th) either in-person or virtually. As opposed to the normal cap of 10 people, attendance will be limited to 20 people each day. Keep in mind that we can safely have 65 people in the building per CDC guidance. Pre-registration is required - sign up here.

  • The church will be open 7:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. on both Election Day and the following day for private prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.  You are invited to pop in for a few minutes before or after you vote, or whenever you like. Please bring a mask and stay at least six feet away from others.

  • We will conclude with Evensong and Benediction on Wednesday, November 4th at 5:00 p.m, in-person or virtually, with an in-person attendance cap of 20 people. Sign up here.

Thank you in advance for voting, and for praying for our country!

Peace,
Fr. Charles
