DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS
Howelsen Hill Audio Tour
The sounds of history will echo through the base of historic Howelsen Hill through a new audio tour kiosk that shares stories and history of the 105-year old ski area, Steamboat Springs' Olympic heritage, and the legacy of Carl Howelsen. Six unique stories share the special history, character and spirit of this favorite local location. The audio exhibit was produced by the Tread of Pioneers Museum with grant funding.
Adult Winter Hockey Leagues
Our Adult Hockey Leagues are back and registration is now open for this winter. The winter league will include three divisions, A League, B+ League and C League. Winter league will have a team registration format and consist of a 16 game schedule with all teams qualifying for playoffs. For returning participants, make sure to review the new registration guidelines posted online as they have been modified for this season.
Fall Youth Pickleball Play
Steamboat Tennis & Pickleball is offering a fun new pickleball play opportunity for kids ages 6 to 12 years old. Classes take place on Fridays from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM for youth ages 6 to 8, and 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM for youth ages 9 to 12. The cost per class is $15 and you can either sign up in advance or drop in. Learn everything from the basics to game strategy in these fun and active weekly classes.
Fall At The Botanic Park
While things may be winding down for the season, there is still plenty to see and do at the Yampa River Botanic Park this fall. Take a relaxing walk through the park, enjoy a lunchtime picnic, do a little bird watching and enjoy the remaining flowers and beautiful fall foliage. As long as the fall weather will allow, the park will continue to remain open for the community to explore and enjoy from dawn until dusk daily.

Winter Sports Club Ski Swap
You don't want to miss this years Ski Swap at Howelsen Hill on Saturday, October 24. Purchase a ticket for early bird shopping for $15 to get first dibs on the best items from 10 AM to 11 AM. Open public shopping will be from 11 AM to 4 PM. If you are looking to get rid of some of your gear, stop by the outdoor sales booth this week to purchase your gear tags (5 tags for $1). Fall Recycling Drop-Off
The Yampa Valley Sustainability Council will be hosting a fall community recycling event on Saturday, October 31. The event will take place from 9 AM to 1 PM for all residential drop-off, and 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM for commercial drop-off, at the Upper Knoll and Meadows parking lots. The YVSC is also looking for volunteers to help direct traffic. Visit their website for a list of recyclable items and additional information.
