Top Economic Development News
It's Economic Development Week in the State of Maryland and in the County, and the Frederick County Office of Economic Development is bustling with activities and events.

OED has just wrapped up a very successful Business Appreciation Week (BAW).  With 2020 marking the 20th anniversary of BAW, we chose to honor Legacy Businesses that have been in the County for 20+ years.  Over the course of one week, we virtually visited over 100 businesses that have each had a hand in shaping the history of our community.  You can read more about these businesses in the articles below, and to our Legacy Businesses, we say thank you for your contributions, and for being a staple and pillar of Frederick County's business community.

In addition to BAW, we have found many reasons to celebrate.  We are happy to congratulate Kite Pharma, Inc. on winning MEDA's Economic Development Project Award.  The Frederick County Minority Business Executive Development Program has just graduated its first class, Homegrown has recognized the Lambert Family as the Farm Family of the Year, our team "Tech-nically Divas" won 4th place in TechFrederick's Virtual Tech Games, and we recognized our local manufacturers for National Manufacturing Day.

Our #StillFrederickCo campaign has drawn to a close. You can go back and check out all of our social media posts for this campaign on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Through it all, we are #StillHiring, #StillInnovating, #StillMaking, #StillServing, and #StillFarming.

Sincerely,

Helen Propheter, Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development
Frederick County Office of Economic Development
