The healing power of kindness is present in every gift.
It is our privilege to pass it on.
Greetings!

We've had a busy fall season at the Bronson Health Foundation. We are grateful to all of you who have joined in our events and made generous gifts of support. We hope you enjoy this glimpse into what's been happening around the healthcare system.

Thank you to Carlson Farms for hosting the fourth annual Farm to Table Dinner

Norm and Karen Carlson of Carlson Farms hosted their fourth annual Farm to Table Dinner on Sunday, October 27. The event brought together more than 550 people and  raise nearly $85,000  from the community to support Bronson Children's Hospital.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the event this year. Funds raised make a huge impact in the lives of the young patients who visit the Children's Hospital and their families. We look forward to seeing you next year!

Steven Michael Hanson
Endowment Renamed to Grant Last Wish

This October, the Pediatric Specialists Endowment was renamed the Steven Michael Hanson Pediatric Specialists Endowment to pay tribute to a special individual who cared deeply for others. Steven was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. When he saw young children also going through cancer treatment and the impacts that it had on their childhoods, Steven wanted to help. It was his wish that with his passing, his parents would find a way to support these children. That wish was granted through a generous gift to the endowment.

The purpose of the endowment is to recruit and sustain subspecialists for Bronson Children's Hospital. Having a variety of subspecialists allows pediatric patients who need specialized treatment, to stay close to home while receiving the best possible care right at Bronson.

Car Simulator Helps Rehab Patients

A patient at Bronson Commons tries out the new car transfer simulator.

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor through their Bronson Donor Advised Fund, a new car simulator is helping rehab patients at Bronson Commons to prepare to safely get back out-and-about in a vehicle following an injury and/or surgery.

The simulator allows patients and caregivers to practice car transfer skills in the comfort and safety of an indoor setting.  Lars Ruser, supervisor of rehabilitation at Bronson Commons says, "before receiving the simulator, we had to rely on using real vehicles outdoors, which could be challenging due to weather and accessibility for staff. We are thrilled to have this new tool available so we can consistently offer this to our patients safely inside our facility."

Thank you for supporting the
Bronson Children's Hospital Run & Walk!

Thank you to everyone that supported and registered for the 2019 Bronson Children's Hospital Run & Walk presented by Mall City Mechanical. Although we were disappointed to have to cancel the event due to lightning, we are grateful for all of the support from our community.

The event raised more than $176,000 which will help provide child life services, art and music therapy, and support families with babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Mark your calendars for the 2020 Children's Hospital Run & Walk on Sunday, September 27, 2020.

Thank you to our generous Run & Walk sponsors!
