DCSD School Visitor Restrictions Lifted
DCSD has adjusted their guidance re: visitors to schools. Please read :

In an effort to further recognize the importance of our parents and community members to the overall success of our schools, the District’s guidelines are being adjusted to allow visitors to enter facilities. The general district-wide restrictions are lifted. (Refer to Board Policy KM: Visitors to School.)

To mitigate the risks of transmission of COVID-19 in our community, the DeKalb County School District is committed to maintaining safety and health policies and protocols throughout the school district. Visitors accessing school facilities are expected to adhere to these policies and protocols.

In accordance with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance, all visitors are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and must adhere to DeKalb County School District’s established safety protocols and wear a mask appropriately covering the mouth and nose while on campus. Prior to entry, all visitors should be free of COVID-19 symptoms.

Definition of Visitor: Visitors, in general, are not active members of DeKalb County School District’s faculty, staff, or student populations.

Disclaimer: The District will continue to monitor conditions and data provided by the Department of Public Health (DPH), the DeKalb County Board of Health (DBOH), and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Decisions will be made in collaboration with the Medical Advisory Committee and Learning and Leading with Excellence Team (formerly the COVID-19 Think Tank).

We Encourage You to Consider Signing Up for FREE Weekly COVID-19 Surveillance Testing
The Department of Student Health Services in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Public Health is excited to bring Surveillance Testing to our district! Surveillance testing is a safe, effective way to limit the spread of COVID -19 and continue to keep schools open for in-person learning. COVID-19 testing is not mandatory and is being offered to protect students, staff, family members, and our community. Weekly school-based and district-wide testing will quickly detect, trace, and isolate COVID-19 positive individuals. The Free Testing Program is available to all students, even if they are fully vaccinated.

Please click HERE to access the Student COVID-19 Testing link for surveillance testing on our campus Wednesday mornings. If you choose to participate, please answer YES on the survey, and you will be prompted to register by completing a Consent Form. A Consent Form must be on file to take advantage of testing services. At DHHS, testing is completed in our Math/Science building by an outside group, 7:30-10:00 am on Wednesdays. Students are excused from class by their last name.

If you have questions regarding the Surveillance Testing, please contact Mrs. JoAnn Harris, Coordinator of Student Health Services.
COVID-19 Health & Safety

Learn more about the District's COVID-19 policies here.
  • All people age 5+ are eligible for free vaccinations -- the single best way to prevent infection, sickness, and hospitalization. Find a vaccine here.
