Weekly COVID-19 Update
"Quarantine fatigue" appears to have set in around the country, as the Washington Post reports that data from 100 million mobile phones suggests a recent increase in people defying social distancing guidelines to make personal daily trips. Californians also flocked to the state's beaches amid a heat wave this weekend. Many of us are feeling the fatigue, but now is not the time to let up on social distancing. The Coronavirus continues to circulate, and older adults and others with certain health conditions are still very much at risk.
Advice to seniors: please continue to stay at home
As our state economies slowly begin to reopen, older adults are still encouraged to remain at home - in Ohio and throughout the country.

COA and LaRosa's heading to Warren County this week
COA and LaRosa’s Pizzerias continue this week to partner to warm the hearts and bellies of vulnerable seniors. Meal deliveries will be made to residents of senior apartment buildings in Warren County and other parts of COA’s service area. This will bring the total number of LaRosa's meals delivered during the current health emergency to about 2,000! Get details.

Virtual fundraising event to benefit COVID-19 relief
A local group has organized a "United for Cincy" virtual fundraiser to benefit the United Way of Greater Cincinnati's COVID-19 relief efforts. The event will feature national and local celebrities and acts such as Jerry Springer and OneRepublic and will stream on Facebook and YouTube on May 1 from 7-10 pm. Get details here.

Experts who study exercise and aging are concerned about the health impact on older adults with prolonged home confinement due to stay-at-home orders. The Parkinson’s Foundation has shifted its 2020 Care Partner Summit to an all-online event on May 16 . Topics include cognitive changes, mental health, self-care and practical planning. More information and registration .
