Learn about all RVCC has to offer at the Fall Open House, Saturday, October 12, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The event, designed for high school students and adults who are interested in pursuing a college degree or certificate, will be held in the Event Center at the College's Branchburg campus.
During the event, participants are invited to tour the campus; meet current students and alumni; and learn about:
- Student clubs, organizations & athletic teams
- RVCC's innovative programs designed to help you transfer to top colleges and universities in New Jersey, across the country, and even in Europe
- Career training programs, designed in partnership with local industry, that can be completed in a year or less
- Ways to pay for college, including financial aid & scholarship opportunities
The event also will include workshops on How to Become an RVCC Student and the Community College Free Tuition Program.

Information Sessions, Campus Tours
Learn more about RVCC by attending an Information Session in October at RVCC's Branchburg campus. The College is offering general Information Sessions, as well as a special session for adults who are considering returning to college or have never attended college.

Sanofi Corporate Mentor Program
Ten students have been selected for this year's cohort of the Sanofi Corporate Mentor Program at RVCC. Approximately 42 students originally applied for the highly selective program, which enables participants to explore career opportunities and develop strategies for their professional, academic, and social success. "Mentees" also attend special seminars that are designed to build a bridge between college and work. The mentoring program culminates with a job shadow day at Sanofi. Students who successfully meet all of the program's requirement receive a $1,500 scholarship.

New Transfer Agreement with Kutztown
RVCC and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania have entered into a new agreement that will facilitate the transfer process for RVCC graduates interested in attending Kutztown University. The agreement also includes academic scholarships and book awards.

Backpack Awareness Program
RVCC Occupational Therapy Assistant students participated in Backpack Awareness Day at the Lamonte School on September 18.

Professional Development
RVCC's Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies will offer a professional development opportunity for teachers, Thursday, October 24, at 5 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus. The workshop will be centered around a documentary play, Seven, based on the inspiring stories of seven remarkable women who brought monumental changes to their countries. The program also will include a workshop designed to help teachers incorporate the art of storytelling into their classrooms. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in RVCC's Edward Nash Theatre. A box dinner will be provided.
Registration fee is $25 per person; the fee will be waived for the first 25 attendees. Three continuing education credits will be offered. Information/registration: Contact Michelle Edgar michelle.edgar@raritanval.edu

Athletics Update
RVCC's women's volleyball team is off to a great start this season with a 10-3 overall record. The team is already eying the National Championships.
Men's soccer, in its best season yet, is hoping to fight its way into the playoffs after a two-year absence. The soccer players' performances have only gotten stronger as the season goes on, with no signs of stopping.
The women's soccer team, led by former NCAA DIII Coach Giuseppe Pennetti, is making huge strides in its return to the field and will compete for a NJCAA Region XIX playoff spot next season.

Exhibition of Faculty Artwork
The Arts & Design department is presenting No-Thing In Common, a four-person exhibition of work spanning various disciplines and creative processes, through October 18 in the Art Gallery. The exhibition features work by RVCC faculty members Eric Araujo, Ji Yong Kim, Jeff Mason, and Dot Paolo.
