Orange County Artist of the Year Program Calls for Nominations
The OC Artist of the Year program is back! Chapman University College of Performing Arts has signed on as a sponsor for Artist of the Year for the next three years, allowing the continuation of the program, which honors Orange County arts students, through 2022! Visual and performing arts teachers are encouraged to nominate students for the upcoming season. More details here.
Newport Beach Awards 2019-20 Arts Grants 
The City of Newport Beach Arts Commission awarded its 2019-20 Arts Grants yesterday to: Balboa Island Improvement Association ($2,500), Baroque Music Festival of Corona del Mar ($4,000), Chuck Jones Center for Creativity ($2,000), Kontrapunktus ($2,000), Laguna Playhouse ($5,000), Newport Elementary School Foundation ($500), Pacific Symphony ($5,000), Philharmonic Society of Orange County ($5,000), and South Coast Repertory ($5,000). New Lake Forest City Council Chambers Double as Theatre 
The City of Lake Forest recently opened its new $73 million Civic Center, which features a community room that accommodates 400 plus City Council Chambers designed to double as a 100-seat theatre space. Read more here in the Register.

Michele Richards Named New CEO of OC Fair & Event Center

The OC Fair & Event Center (OCFEC) yesterday named Michele Richards as its new CEO--she had served as Interim CEO since Oct. 28, and prior to that she was the agency's VP of Business Development for more than seven years. She was also an organizational development consultant to OCFEC for 11 years and next year will celebrate her 19th OC Fair. More details here.
