One of the phenomenon's of the pandemic has been the emptying out of dog rescues/shelters.
Folks working from home realized that this could be the perfect time to bring home a canine companion. Rescue volunteers offered to foster dogs at home, resulting in "foster failures" - individuals who fell in love with the dogs they were fostering and decided to officially adopt them.
Rescues have been reminding new adopters that there is an adjustment period for dogs; the 3/3/3 rule is a great general guideline for how long this realistically might take.
If you have recently adopted a rescue - thank you! Your patience is well worth the effort.
