Dear Rondout Families and Faculty,

We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and support during our COVID mitigation transition this week. Our proactive work in preparing for the changes paid off with a week that ran smoothly. Our faculty worked to support those students who found the change challenging and we were able to keep focused on living the Rondout Way. Students accepted the variety of decisions that families and faculty made regarding the masking requirements and we had a productive week. Staff will continue to support respect for individual choices.

We will continue to keep your apprised of the COVID case status as positive cases are reported.  We ask that parents assist us in monitoring for symptoms and keeping students who are ill at home.  Testing options continue to be available with parental consent. Rapid tests and PCR tests are available through the health office. Close contacts will not be required to quarantine unless they become symptomatic.

On another note, as we end this week the news is filled with images and information about the war in the Ukraine. Please feel free to reach out if your child is experiencing any worries or concerns related to the situation. We know that some of our families may have personal connections to the area and this may be an anxious time for friends and families.  We have asked our faculty to be sensitive to students’ fears or worries regarding this situation as well and let parents know if their child expresses any concerns.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or we we can be of support to your families.  Your on-going partnership is appreciated and valued as we begin the third trimester next week. Wishing you all a great weekend. Take care…
Until next time…
