This is an opportunity for BWE parents to share their knowledge and expertise in some area of STeAM (science, technology, engineering, arts or mathematics). Exhibits can include slide shows, experiments, hands-on activities, lectures, visual displays, etc.

Topics may include physical science, earth and space science, biology, art or any other topic related to the nature of science / technology / math.
Demonstrations will be for BWE students and should last approximately 15-20 minutes. Students will rotate through areas of interest.

Dress Appropriately for the Weather

Winter is upon us BWE! Please be sure that the children are dressed properly for the cold weather. They will go out for their 30-minute recess daily, weather permitting, and they should be prepared with heavy coats, hats or earmuffs, gloves, and scarves!
Notes to School

If you choose to email an excuse for your child being absent, late, an early dismissal from school, or for end of day dismissal arrangements, please include the office ( mhunter@northallegheny.org) on the email as well as the child’s classroom teacher. This helps to make sure the absences are coded properly and in a timely fashion. Also, if a teacher happens to have a sub and you are changing your child’s dismissal arrangement, that message may not be received if the office is not also included.

In addition, if you plan to take your child on a vacation or educational trip during the school year, please fill out the Elementary Student Application for Educational Tour or Trip form and return it to your child’s teacher or the school office at least five days before the event. The form is also accessible online on the District website under the +Parents tab.

Thank you for your cooperation with these procedures.

District Updates
Flexible Instructional Day Previously Scheduled for February 3

In previous communications sent by the District, it was declared that Monday, February 3, 2020, would be a scheduled practice Flexible Instructional Day (FID) for the District. However, the District was notified on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, that the Pennsylvania Department of Education did not approve the request.

Therefore, the practice Flexible Instructional Day has been canceled for February 3, and all North Allegheny Schools will be in session for a regularly scheduled school day.

The first FID will be implemented if/when North Allegheny uses all four of the built-in snow days.
Jump for the Hills

North Allegheny’s Elementary Schools are teaming up to Jump for the Hills! The annual jump rope fundraiser will allow students to learn about the needs in their community while raising funds for a local non-profit. For additional information, click the buttons below to view the letter and flyer.
