Message from the Mayor
Hello everyone,
On Tuesday, the provincial government announced a stay-at-home order, which is effective beginning Thursday, January 14 at 12:01 a.m.
The message of this order is simple: stay home. Before leaving your home, ask yourself, is this essential? If the answer isn’t an immediate yes, then please stay home.
For COVID-19 updates, including local updates on the COVID-19 vaccine, please visit the Lambton Public Health website. We all have a personal responsibility to help protect those most vulnerable in our community.
With so much out of our control, we can control our own actions. Choose to be kind.
Stay healthy, safe and positive.
Mayor Bill

Enhanced Public Health and Workplace Safety Measures
Our Provincial leaders have put enhanced public health and workplace safety measures into place beginning January 14, 2021. They have been clear in telling us that urgent action is required to significantly reduce the number of contacts people are having, in order to:
- Prevent extensive illness and death
- Protect our health care system; and
- Resume in-person learning in schools.
The measures announced this week include:
- Declaring a provincial emergency
- Restricting mobility
- Reducing outdoor gathering limits
- Closing additional workplaces and introducing mitigation measures for those that remain open
- Increasing enforcement
The enhanced public health and workplace safety measures are in effect for all of Ontario and are anticipated to be in place until at least Thursday, February 11, 2021.

The Municipality of Lambton Shores Emergency Management Team would like to remind you that winter storms are more hazardous to Canadians than tornadoes, thunderstorms, lightning, floods and hurricanes combined. The following hazard information is shared with you educationally as we enter the heart of winter; Heavy snowfall and ice can make the roads treacherous and interrupt the power supply.
Other Important Safety Tips:
- Avoid unnecessary travel
- Wear layers of lightweight clothing, mittens and a hat (preferably one that covers your ears)
- Wear waterproof, insulated boots to keep your feet warm and dry and to keep from slipping on ice and snow
- Regularly check for frostbite — numbness or white areas on your face and body (ears, nose, cheeks, hands and feet in particular)
- Avoid overexertion when shoveling snow by taking frequent breaks
- Bring pets inside and move livestock to sheltered areas with non-frozen drinking water.
