Legislative Updates & Actions

Mass Power Forward Lobby Day!

Join climate crisis activists from around the state in this imminent day of action!

Tuesday, January 14
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Paulist Center, 5 Park St., Boston

Here are four easy ways to take action on the climate crisis this Tuesday!

  • Sign this New Year's Resolution and commit to actively participating in helping pass meaningful climate legislation in 2020.

  • Join Mass Power Forward for a Climate Advocacy Day at the State House! Whether you're brand new to legislative work or you've done this 1,000 times, the Mass Power Forward coalition wants you to join them to visit every legislator's office to press for these priority outcomes in 2020: Environmental Justice, 100% Renewable Energy for All, and Equitable Investment.

  • Ask your municipal officials to sign a Letter of Support for the Benson Bill H.2810. They can sign on on-line at Municipal Sign-On letter or you can print out a hard copy for them to sign. Copies of the letter with signatures will be sent to Governor Baker, the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and leaders of the MA House and Senate. Officials signatures can also be added after the upcoming hearing.

Spotlight on Activism
Environmentalists have filed a petition in Yarmouth asking the town to declare a climate emergency

If approved, the declaration would require Yarmouth to demonstrably reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, getting the town to net-zero at the “earliest technologically and economically feasible” time. Read more and listen here.
