2021 CAM Buyers Guide: Contracts Accepted Until November 16th

The CAM Buyers Guide is published annually and is the most comprehensive and user-friendly construction directory in the state. More than 5,000 copies are distributed each year. The deadline for submitting Buyers Guide contracts for company listings has been extended to November 16th. Prevailing Wage Compliance

LTU Offers Free COVID-19 Safety Training to Small Construction Firms
|
|
Lawrence Technological University (LTU) is offering free COVID-19 safety training to construction firms with fewer than 100 employees under a grant from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Two-hour COVID-19 safety training sessions are now available in various formats--in-person, online, as well as an online seminar that multiple firms may simultaneously attend. The training will be offered by Ahmed Al-Bayati, assistant professor of civil and architectural engineering at LTU. Construction firms interested in the free training should email Al-Bayati.

National Apprenticeship Week Is Almost Here
|
|
National Apprenticeship Week takes place November 8th-14th. As part of this event, the Michigan Apprenticeship Steering Committee, Inc. presents a virtual learning program to highlight Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeships across the state of Michigan.
November 9th, 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Virtual zoom conference
The program will feature multiple skilled trades programs and offer many apprentices and apprentice mentors sharing insights about their experiences, training, safety, and futures. View job sites through the eyes of apprentices, who will be sharing from job sites where they are currently working. Each represented trade will briefly share their respective program and offer knowledge from instructors and training directors.

AIA Detroit holds its annual meeting and elections via a Zoom conference on Tuesday, November 10th from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
