Jews Leading The innocent To Slaughter

On October 11, 2018, Haaretz Daily Newspaper published the article,  The Jewish Women Leading the Resistance in the U.S. Battle Over Abortion ,  The author, Debra Nussbaum Cohen, spoke with Rabbi David Novak, who sits on our board of directors. We thank Ms. Cohen for contacting Rabbi Novak for a different perspective on the abortion issue, and for including a portion of the interview in the article.

If you cannot access the article on the Haaretz webpage, it can be read with commentary at Shoebat.com

The piece describes Jewish reproductive rights activists and their activities, beginning in 1965 with the creator of the first organized abortion-access network in America, a Jewish woman named Heather Booth. The author highlights several more Jewish women, collectives, and organizations through the years that operated surreptitiously, and those that continue the work under the radar today. Ms. Cohen brings to light the lengths to which this cadre of Jewish abortion advocates go to transport women and teens to cities where late term abortion is legal. They house abortion-minded women and solicit funds to pay for their expensive abortions, which can cost as much as $7,000.

This study of Jewish abortion advocacy lacks basic information that we could provide. We submitted the following letter to the editor of Haaretz Daily Newspaper.

                                             --------------------------------
Debra Nussbaum Cohen's recent article, entitled, The Jewish Women Leading the Resistance in the U.S. Battle Over Abortion, sheds light on Jewish women and organizations involved in abortion work. Driven by compassion and a commitment to reproductive rights, these women make significant investments to help women gain access to abortion. Exemplary motives notwithstanding, certain basic facts should be available to complete the picture that our community has about abortion:
- Judaism is the original pro-life religion, prohibiting abortion except in very rare cases where the mother's life is in imminent danger.
- Abortion hurts women, causing short and long term infertility, physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and relationship problems. Abortion decimates families and communities.
- During abortion procedures unborn babies are starved, poisoned, burned, dismembered, and born alive and their skull crushed or their spinal cords cut - all without pain medication.
- RU-486, the chemical abortion pill, endangers women. The drug is manufactured by a subsidiary of IG Farben, the German company that made the gas used to kill Jews in the gas chambers.
- The abortion industry manipulates, uses, and exploits women for profit, and hides behind a wall of privacy to hide a host of criminal conduct: infanticide - killing unborn children who are born alive, sheltering sexual predators and sex traffickers, illegally harvesting baby parts for profit, and violating health code regulations regarding safety, sanitation, and licensing.

These business, medical, and moral lapses show no resemblance to Jewish ethics. We are saddened and horrified that Jewish women invest so much capital in killing precious innocent babies. Pregnancy care and adoption are healthier, safer, and better solutions to unplanned and unwanted pregnancy than killing children and harming women. We pray a day will come when Jewish women work tirelessly to save and protect innocent children and vulnerable women from the evils of the abortion death machine - Life saving activities that find favor with HaShem and are carried out in the light of truth and righteousness rather than under cover of darkness and immorality.
