Do you need affordable internet connectivity for your child? The Affordable Connectivity Program from the federal government can assist. You may qualify to receive up to $30 a month to use towards internet service or up to $75 a month if you live on tribal lands.

Enhanced Protocols Update: All RRPS Schools are below the 3% positive COVID-19 case level. Therefore, enhanced COVID Safety Measures are no longer in place.

COVID-19 Case Notification Changes

Rio Rancho Public Schools has been actively responding to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in early 2020. The staff assigned to our Rapid Response Team has always worked to be as transparent as possible with you about COVID-19 cases identified in our facilities.

Recently, we made a change to the notification and reporting process for COVID-19 cases. While our Rapid Response Team is still working to report cases, identify close contacts (phone calls to close contacts), disinfect facilities and more, we will no longer continue to send email and text message notifications to parents and guardians for cases identified in our facilities. As with other schools within the state, we have found the benefits of such notifications have significantly decreased and we have also heard from many parents and guardians about their desire to discontinue the notification emails and text messages. In addition, we have also modified the way we will report cases on our website. We have streamlined the reporting to make more efficient use of staff time and so you may access information and total case counts more easily.

COVID-19 Testing Site Updates & Information

The Rio Rancho Public Schools COVID-19 testing site, operated by PMG USA, is still open for business. Our site currently has lab PCR tests for use in symptomatic individuals, as well as rapid antigen tests for use with the Test to Stay program, close contacts and surveillance testing.

As always, this site is only accessible to current RRPS students and staff. You will be required to provide a school or district ID to be tested. We unfortunately are unable to serve other members of households or our community at this time.
