Summer Update #2: COVID-19 Protocols for the First Day of School
Dear Trinity Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday.

The intent of this note is to remind families about COVID-19 health and safety protocols as they relate to the first day of school. These are the same protocols as noted in the June 7 Trinity Talk with the addition of hosting unvaccinated visitors who travel by air. As mentioned in Summer Update #1, we are awaiting the updated health and safety protocols as they relate to teaching and learning in the fall but wanted to get this reminder out early.

Given Trinity's start date on both campuses is August 26, we ask that all student travel by air to be completed by August 15 or 18 (see below for quarantine guidelines for unvaccinated travelers). For incoming ECP and Kindergarten families, since there is an orientation on August 25, the dates would be August 14 or 17.

It is important to note that this guideline also applies to travelers who are not fully vaccinated and travel by air to visit your family. As an example, if cousins are visiting through air travel and they are not fully vaccinated, the August 14/15 and August 17/18 dates still apply for your child.

Regarding unvaccinated individuals:
  • Non-essential travelers who are not fully vaccinated should get tested with a viral test 1-3 days before travel, and get tested 3-5 days upon arrival back home. They should stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel, even if their test is negative.

  • Non-essential travelers who are not fully vaccinated and don't get tested should stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.

We understand this is a conservative approach as children transmit at a low rate and it applies to air travel (not by car). We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our community through 2021 - 2022.

Also, we are scheduled for our Baseline Covid Testing on Wednesday, August 18 for all Upper Campus (K to 5) students. All Upper Campus students will need to report a negative test, as we have done over the past year, before attending school.

As always, my door is open if you have any questions or if there’s anything I can clarify.

Thanks everyone,

Matt
