Rescue Ranger
December 2019
It is the time of year that we reflect on our amazing accomplishments and feel humble and grateful that we have such wonderful supporters and volunteers. We could not accomplish such incredible feats without your generous support. Thank you!

We have created a 12 (plus) days of Christmas campaign highlighting many of our accomplishments from the year and are presenting them on Facebook and our webpage through Christmas. We hope you enjoy them and make a donation so we can continue our mission of rescue, rehab, adopt dogs in need throughout the coming year.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time last month to march in a parade, wrap gifts, or comfort college students during exams. And thanks also to everyone who bought a t-shirt in our Winter Fundraiser. We raised over $2000!

We hope you have a happy and safe holiday season.
Sweet mama Apple came into the program last month with 6 puppies and a special volunteer dressed them all up in Santa costumes. So, in the spirit of Christmas, some of their pictures are scattered throughout this issue of the Rescue Ranger.

Follow us on Facebook or our webpage as we introduce a new story most days through Christmas, so keep checking back as the list of accomplishments grows!

Raleigh Christmas Parade
Rain threatened both the Raleigh Christmas Parade and the Hillsborough Holiday Parade this year and we thank all the volunteers who came out despite the forecast!

We had a great turn out at the Raleigh Christmas Parade with about 38 people and 24 dogs and were a big hit with the crowds. See the links below for pictures and a video of our volunteers provide by Ellen and Abby.
Unfortunately, rain most of the day kept many from attending the Hillsborough Holiday Parade, so we weren't able to participate. However, we vow to return next year and hope you'll join us!
Campbell University DeStress Fess
Thanks to our volunteers and Golden Ambassadors who attended the Campbell University DeStress fess on December 4th. It was a huge success and the students were grateful to get some puppy love during their exams.
Shop for a Cause with Lilly Pulitzer
Lilly Pulitzer is partnering with NRGRR to help get in your holiday shopping for a cause. Join us at The Streets of Southpoint in Durham on December 15th from 11 am to 3 pm to enjoy sips, sweets, and puppy live while our stylists help you pick out the perfect gifts.

Sips and sweets will be served, as well as a holiday wrapping station. Shopping won't be complete without some guest appearances by NRGRR dogs! NRGRR volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions as well.

Sign up here if you'd like to volunteer at this event. We still need a couple of volunteers for the afternoon.

Sweetwater (Lucy) Update
Sweetwater (Lucy) is the second puppy this year that was surrendered to us with a portosystemic liver shunt, a congenital birth defect, which is an abnormal connection allowing blood to bypass the liver. She was introduced at the end of Daisy's story, the first dog with this ailment, and we wanted to update you on her progress.
Lucy is now 8 months old and is doing pretty well given her chronic conditions. She has co-fosters caring for her, one home that is quiet with no other dogs and another where she is in dog heaven. She is growing into quite the little lady but her condition still affects her at times and we are continuing to work on adjusting her regimen to find what works for her.

Head over to her Blarney's Fund page to follow her story and read the latest updates from her foster moms.
Become a Foster!
There is nothing more rewarding than providing a loving home for a dog in need. Our coordinators work with fosters to match dogs to the right foster home, and we provide foster training throughout the year. All you have to do is provide food, love, exercise, and attention! Click the button below to learn more and complete the application.

NRGRR fosters need to live within the larger Triangle area. Fostering is more successful for both dog and foster when fosters are in reach of needed resources, from crates to behavior support to vet offices to meet and greets to foster dog promotions. If you live on the outskirts of the Triangle but still within a 30 minutes drive of one of our vet partners, we'd be glad to talk with you about the several or more trips to the central Triangle area that it will take to foster a dog successfully.

Volunteers Needed
We are currently looking to expand our major events planning team and are looking for people to help organize, solicit sponsorships and in-kind donations, and help make our events as successful as possible!

If you would like to help, please contact Tami at tamiradzai@gmail.com and/or submit a volunteer application form on our volunteer page if you haven't volunteered with us before or want to update your interests.
Thank you Sponsors!
As the year closes out we want to make sure to recognize our major sponsors that make a commitment to support us throughout the year. It is because of your continued dedication and support to help us Rescue, Rehab, Adopt that NRGRR is able to succeed in saving the lives of so many dogs in need. We are forever grateful!
