Hello All,

It was so fantastic to see you all on Tuesday at our Spring Convening. Thank you for the time, the participation, and the discussion. Stay tuned for a full report next week with updated legislative topics and notes from our session.

I was remiss not to mention during our convening that Senator Leticia Van De Putte was involved in a pedestrian/car accident while in Florida. She is in stable condition in a hospital in Orlando. You can read more about her status here. I know many of you have worked closely with her in her extensive advocacy for public education and I wanted to make sure you all knew. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Just one policy update before we leave for the long fiesta weekend -- The House Committee on Public Education will have its first meeting on April 26th. There will be no invited testimony besides Commissioner Morath. The rest of the hearing will be dedicated to setting dates for the remaining interim charges. I will have a full summary of the commissioner's comments after the hearing.

Staff members from Senator Menéndez's office shared that the Senate Committee on Education will more than likely start hearings in May.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
