FIND OUT MORE ABOUT this year's proposed NYSSBA resolutions at our advocacy meeting on Monday night, 9/21. We will discuss each proposal to be voted on at the upcoming convention, and come to a regional consensus about which ones to support. We'd love to hear your district's perspective and give you information to bring back to your board table.

MEET REGENT FRAN WILLS. Get to know our new representative in NYSED and her outlook on the future of public education. Her experience as a former superintendent in Westchester and Putnam has informed Fran's view of the COVID-19 crisis, student mental health, equity, and more and will help frame the conversation for how to move forward as we Navigate The New Landscape.
LATEST NEWS ON STATE AID PAYMENTS
THIS YEAR'S STATE BUDGET ALLOWED FOR THE GOVERNOR to reduce aid to school districts and municipalities over the course of the state fiscal year. NYS United Teachers filed a lawsuit to block withholding and future cuts to school aid. With no sign of federal funding coming to the rescue, the state budget office is now promising that potential school aid reductions will be delayed past September and will take district need into consideration.
