To Our District 67 and District 115 Families and Staff:

Coordinating meals is never easy for families and staff in a typical school year, but during the pandemic it has proven to be an even bigger challenge.

To help ease the burden of planning, shopping and cooking for families who live and staff who work in our school Districts, we are now participating in a special program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

This free meal program is available to all families and staff in Districts 67 and 115 with children 18 years of age and younger. Families and staff are invited to pick up meal kits for each child in their family. No registration, no ordering ahead, no questions.

Just pull up in your car on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Deer Path Middle School (8:00 - 10:30 AM) or Lake Forest High School (4:00 - 6:00 PM) and you'll have enough food to cover breakfast and lunch for the children in your family for seven days. Breakfast includes an entree, fresh fruit, and milk; lunch includes a reheatable entree, fruit, vegetable, and milk. You can find a full  menu for the balance of November and all of December here. This program is available throughout all school breaks including Thanksgiving and Winter Break. We will post information about any changes to the pick up schedules on the home pages of our school websites.

We are pleased to partner with the Illinois State Board of Education to make this program available — a small way of simplifying life for the families and staff in our schools. Further details may be found here.
