Re: Tentative Agreement
I wish to inform you that the NLTA has reached a tentative agreement with Government to extend the current Provincial Collective Agreement for a period of two years. The extension would be from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2022.
A Joint Council meeting during which Branch presidents will receive details on the tentative agreement and approve the wording of the ratification ballot is being scheduled for Friday, January 22. Details of the tentative agreement, including a copy of the tentative agreement and a presentation, will be available to teachers in the coming weeks, following the Joint Council meeting.
No information will be released publicly until teachers have been fully briefed.
Further information and opportunities for members to familiarize themselves with the tentative agreement will be made available as soon as possible after January 22.
A vote on the tentative agreement, conducted electronically, will take place from February 16-19, 2021.
