Dear Hart Families,
I can not believe we are beginning our 5th week of school! We are so happy to have all of our Leopards back in action! Last week was great. This week will be even better!
Last week we stayed busy practicing on-campus procedures and routines. A couple of notes:
- Afternoon dismissal seems to be running more smoothly. As students learn their car numbers and routines, I expect we will move even more swiftly. We began calling students a bit earlier last week for practice. This week we won't begin calling students until dismissal time at 3:10. Please take a moment to review with your student their dismissal plan. Please see below for more dismissal information.
- We understand things get left behind, however, we are really trying to limit items being dropped off to campus unless medically necessary. Please remember we are not allowing food deliveries for staff or students. Thank you for your help with this.
- Our building does not open until 7:30 a.m. For safety, please plan to keep your child in the car with you if you arrive early. If you have a special circumstance, please reach out to us.
- Students no longer have access to microwaves in the lunchroom. If your child is not eating a school lunch, please send a lunch that does not require heating.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns.
With a full HeART,
Lacey Moser

NEW!!! Dismissal Procedures
|
|
\We now have 3 car rider dismissal locations. They are divided by color as well as last name. Students with the last name beginning A-G will dismiss from the south side door. South side door is the yellow location. Students with the last name beginning H-P will dismiss from the front door. The front door is the red location. Students with the last name beginning Q-Z will dismiss from the north side door. The north side door is the blue location. Please make sure your 2020-2021 car tag is visible in your vehicle. All students were issued a new car tag this year. Walkers will be dismissed from the north east playground door. Walkers are the green location. This location is the same as last year. Bus riders will dismiss from the front entrance. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to improve on dismissal.

NEW!!! School Dismissal Manager (SDM)
|
|
Please take a moment to login to School Dismissal Manager (SDM). We ask that you review your student(s) default dismissal. The default dismissal is how your student will be dismissed everyday. An exception is used when there is a change to a certain days dismissal. If the default dismissal is incorrect please email Heather Bouska (heather_bouska@lovejoyisd.net). Changes to the default dismissal can only be done by the office. Parents are to make exception changes to dismissal as the situations arise. Please make dismissal exception changes by 2:00 p.m. daily.

The online system for putting books on hold will continue for virtual learners. If you would like to place a library book on hold please visit the library Seesaw page. The library Seesaw page has all the information you need to place a book on hold. You will receive an email when your book order is ready. You can pick up and return books any time in the front vestibule of school. Books will be bagged and labeled with your child’s name. Please place returned books in the rolling cart labeled "returned library books". Returned books will then be placed in bins located in the front of the library. All returned books will be quarantined for the recommended 96 hours.
On campus learners will check out books as follows:
PK - Grade 1 from a mobile book cart weekly.
Grades 2-4 will use the online catalog for holds. Books will be delivered to class.

NEW!!! A word from Nurse Allison
|
|
Please watch this short video from Nurse Allison. She is providing us with helpful tips regarding proper hand sanitizer use.

Medications:
If your student has a prescription or over the counter medication that needs to be kept in the clinic during face to face instruction, there will be a designated time and date to get those dropped off at school.
The Medication, Emergency Action Plan (anaphylaxis/allergy), and the Asthma Action Plan forms can all be found here. Some of these forms must be signed by the child's physician as well as the parent, so you will need to fill these out ahead of time.
All medications must be in their original packaging (NO ziplock baggies) and not expired.
Prescription medications must have the proper label on the bottle or packaging and will have to be counted with the parent dropping the medication off.
Immunizations:
Please make sure you have provided the school with an up to date immunization form for your children. Please follow up with your child’s health care provider to make sure your child meets public school immunization requirements which can be found here.
Thank you!

We’re excited to kick off our Annual Appeal campaign! Our goal is to raise $250,000 and have 40% community involvement. The students of Lovejoy ISD are touched by Foundation dollars in every school and grade throughout the district. Now, more than ever, they need our support to ensure no interruption to the Lovejoy standard of exceptional learning.
New this year, three giving options! Teacher Grant Fund, One Heart. One Lovejoy. Fund, or a 50/50 split. Visit our website today to learn more and donate!

Kids 1st registration is now open.
Due to limited staffing and the management of social distancing on each campus, we will be limiting the number of students accepted into the after school program. We will start off accepting 25 students on each campus and at this time will only be accepting full time tuition.
We will continue to monitor the situation and guidance from the CDC and HHSC and if we are able to add additional staff and students while still maintaining social distancing practices, I will send out a communication to let parents know.
