Dear Graduate,

I look forward to commencement every year. It is the ceremonial representation of what a university strives to achieve. I am always moved watching our students cross the stage, many with tears in their eyes, as they celebrate the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. This year, in particular, you have shown grit and determination in accomplishing your goals and getting to this point. You have completed your degree, despite the most harrowing of circumstances and deserve a celebration worthy of your efforts.

However, the safety of our ISU family is paramount. It is with the heaviest of emotion that we have made the difficult decision to restructure our in-person commencement ceremony to a virtual format. The in-person ceremony, originally scheduled for November 21, will be cancelled, and a virtual ceremony will occur at the completion of the semester, on December 12.

I know this has been a trying time for all of you, and for many others, this is the second graduation ceremony that has been cancelled. I share in your disappointment. Please know we are diligently working to make this virtual celebration worthy of your accomplishments. Additional information regarding the virtual ceremony will be sent in the coming days, so please continue to check your email.

Idaho State University is incredibly proud of you and your accomplishment in attaining a degree. If you have any questions or concerns, please reply to this email.
