We're getting ready to plant some herbs in our own version of a Victory Garden. Did you know that Victory gardens actually started in WWI? Much of DC federal land was divided into community vegetable gardens and citizens were encouraged to plant every square foot of available land on their property. Twenty million U.S. households, over 25%, had gardens to aid the war effort in 1918!
