Welcome, Leadership Torrance Class of 2020!
This afternoon, the cohort of Leadership Torrance 2020 met at the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce for orientation. Chairman of the Board Dan Armendariz, California Water Service Company and Donna Duperron, President & CEO, provided a welcome on behalf of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. Chamber staff provided an insight to the many programs and events planned and implemented each year.

Leadership Torrance Directors, Alex Holt, Torrance Refining Company and Amanda Martelli, Torrance South Bay YMCA provided an insight to this year's sessions and community project. Read Online.

The New California Labor Laws You Need to Know for January

CA housing bill gets major makeover & it gives local governments more control
Last year, California local governments  effectively blocked  the broadest proposal out of the Legislature that attempted to boost home construction across the state. This year, lawmakers behind that bill are trying to win over cities and counties by promising them more control over their zoning laws. Read More
FREE Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program accepting applications!
This free program, an initiative paid for by Goldman Sachs Foundation, is an intensive business growth education and mentorship program for small businesses. It offers valuable skills, the opportunity to access financial capital, powerful networking opportunities, and more, throughout its 11 sessions. The deadline for the fall 2020 cohort (Aug. 27th to Dec. 4th) in Long Beach is April 23, 2020 - a very short time from now!

The eligibility criteria for applicants is: 1) applicant must be an owner or co-owner of a business, 2) Business must be in operation for at least two years,
3) Business must have had gross revenues in last fiscal year of at least $150,000, 4) Must have at least 4 full-time or part-time employees (including the owner).
