There is no playbook for how to run your organization amidst a pandemic, social unrest, and community needs that continue to grow. Now, more than ever, our nonprofit sector needs connectedness, learning opportunities and continuity as we peer into the unknowns of 2021.
We want to hear from you - what’s important to you? What are your most pressing needs? Look for an invitation soon that will provide a forum for you to connect, learn from peers, share what’s worked, what concerns you, and what would help guide you into and through 2021.
Leadership Council will continue to provide you with opportunities to strengthen your nonprofit through learning, leading, connections, growth and development, so that you can create an attractive and sustainable future for your staff, board and those you serve. We invite you to remain a part, or to become a part, of Leadership Council representing 230 different agencies of all sizes serving many important causes.

Five Strategies for Embracing Equitable Language in Grant Writing |

How has your nonprofit been impacted this year by conversations and challenges related to race, equity, and diversity? No matter your organization’s mission or purpose, we all have an opportunity and responsibility to be on the side of striving for justice and dismantling racism and other forms of oppression. This work can start with committing to use equitable language in our grant proposals and other donor communications that empowers, rather than disempowers, the people and groups our organizations engage and serve.

Looking for extra help on an initiative? Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations (SCNO) is a University of Cincinnati student-led organization that provides pro-bono consulting for nonprofits in the Greater Cincinnati area. They are currently accepting applications for the Spring 2021 semester, where projects run on a 15-week cycle. Apply here, and check out their website for more information! Rapid Re-Employment Career Training Program
Rapid Re-Employment Initiative partners; Hamilton County Community Action Agency, Cincinnati Works, Easter Seals and the Urban League of Southwestern Cincinnati have come together to introduce a transformative new fast-track career training program to immediately enroll 300 participants in a fresh-start, individualized program aimed at placing them in career-track positions. Home Relief Grant
The State of Ohio has designated a portion of the CARES funding to help low-income Ohioans who have fallen behind on their rent, mortgage, and water bills through the Ohio Home Relief Grant (OHRG). Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency (CHCCAA) is administering the OHRG in Hamilton County. For more information on the program CLICK HERE and applicants will apply APPLY HERE. |

This year has been so disruptive and we all just wanted to re-connect, build team cohesion and have some fun! Camp Joy's Venture Out team understands this need to reconnect and re-build your team, they are offering you a FREE 20-minute virtual team energizer for group sizes up to 35 to help foster teamwork and energy. My name is Allen Woods, and I am Co-Founder and Executive Director of MORTAR. I started as an entrepreneur during childhood, as a kid with a camera. Everything I learned about entrepreneurship was trial and error, as I didn’t have a mentor or any system of guidance to get started. As an adult, building MORTAR allowed us to create a system that provides entrepreneurs with all of the resources I didn’t have. In 2014, I along with Derrick Braziel and William Thomas started MORTAR to serve the OTR community.
