$$ Free Money for Pilgrim $$

$3,400 towards technology in 2018-19!!

SCRIP helps fund technology for the school. This includes Chromebooks, Wifi upgrades, miscellaneous technology and maintenance. We have a great team that keeps our technology running. The team carefully plans how to use these funds to keep our school technology functioning. We were able to do a lot last year due to the SCRIP program and we are so grateful for the technology team and the SCRIP team!!

This year we have a new SCRIP program due to the discontinuation of the program that we were fortunate to use for many years. Although there are a few missing local offerings, there are many more that we hope you find fun and useful.

Personally, I try to look through and find the things that I use all the time such as grocery stores, gas, Amazon, etc. That way I am directing money that I would spend anyway to benefit the school. Do you have a big home improvement project coming up? There are both Home Depot and Lowes available. A little planning ahead will really benefit the school.

For those last minute plans, perhaps a date night, there is also SCRIP on hand. Our SCRIP team has some restaurant and coffee gift cards available for immediate purchase. Just email scrip@pilgrimbeaverton.com and they will let you know where to find those.

There are still scrip order forms available in the atrium if you prefer to fill out and turn in an order form.

Please help support Pilgrim by supporting our SCRIP program!!

Next SCRIP Orders are due: OCTOBER 21st ~

Chapel Updates:

Our chapel theme this year is Joyful—based on 1 Thessalonians 5:16.
Rejoice always!  This is easy to say and a lot harder to do!
Throughout the school year we have lots of opportunities to serve others with a joyful heart with an offering. We have projects that are both local and global and our first offering of the year are hygiene kits.  For the month of October we will be Operation Christmas Child (see below). We also regularly take travel shampoos, soaps and lotions to the Portland Rescue Mission so if you have any saved up from your summer travels bring them in!

Pilgrim Blazer Night is Friday November 8 th against the Brooklyn Nets. The sign up ts is posted outside the offices. This is a firm sign up! Tickets are $20 each For more information text or call Andrea @ 503-720- 2005 or at dceandrea@yahoo.com .  Please make your payments to Pilgrim Lutheran Church and leave in the office. Payment due by Oct 27.  You must include your email and cell with the sign up. All Blazer tickets are electronic and you will also need to download the Blazer App.

October Offering:  Operation Christmas Child is back! Information flyers are going home with your children on packing instructions for the Christmas Shoe Boxes. (or go online to https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/pack-a-shoe-box/ )  Shoe Boxes are due no later than November 13th!  You can pack your own shoe box or bring in items to combine with other donations. Cash donations will go towards shipping costs ($9 a box) Or Pay online and see where you shoe OCC box goes.

Christmas Wreath Order season is here!  We have beautiful wreaths, crosses, candy canes and garland. Wreaths are available for pick up November 30.  See attached order form or pick up a form in the atrium. All proceeds go to support the youth ministry of Pilgrim.  Orders are due November 10.

Middle School Corn Maize: Sunday October 20.  Parents and youth, join us for our annual trip to the Maize on Sauvie Island. Cost: $8 plus money for McDonalds. We will meet at Pilgrim at 5:00 and head to McDonald's then head over to the Maize. See attached form. We will shoot to be back at Pilgrim by 8:00 ish pm. Parents are responsible for driving or arranging transportation of your teens. Contact Andrea for more information at 503-720-2005. This is typically a muddy event. Rain boots and a change of shoes are strongly suggested!

Why do we do chapel offerings?
To thank God for our many blessings and to share with others who are in need. If I can answer any questions about chapel or offering do not hesitate to ask.

You are loved!
