We are pleased to share with you the following news, information and ministry opportunities taking place within our synod and throughout the ELCA. The second issue contains ministry celebrations, events and opportunities, and positions within our synod and beyond.

If you have items to share about the ministries happening through your congregation, please email Terri Robertson at  [email protected]. If you know of others who aren't receiving our emails, please share this with them and encourage them to sign up here.

Meeting the Community Where They Are
Episcopal priest David Madsen has been serving The Welcome Ministry in El Cajon, a Lutheran ministry, working with refugees and the homeless.  The Welcome Ministry is a part of the ELCA's Homeless and Justice Network. As Pastor David shares, this network is an " awesome assortment of creative ministries and evangelism to homeless, marginalized, refugees and asylee's who live in our midst. I love being part of this network and I look forward to being together with them again in February for the ELCA Congregational Vitatlity gathering and training event."

For a glimpse into the work of this Network, follow this link for videos and stories -  https://vimeo.com/showcase/6364615. The Welcome Ministry is included in this group, both the intro and further introduction in one of the later videos.
